7.3. When something goes wrong
No response · the target is missing · the result looks wrong
Collected by symptom. Work through them from the top.
The widget is not there at all

None of this can be turned on from the screen.
The button is there but pressing it does nothing
If you get "The AI widget is not ready yet", you pressed before the widget had finished loading.
Wait a moment and press again.
If it persists, reload the page.
You sent a question and nothing came back
① Check the connection first
Look at the dot to the left of the title.

The connection often drops while you are away from your desk. Clicking it reconnects.
② It may still be working
If the elapsed time is counting up, it is still working. Questions that query several metrics take a while.
If it takes too long, press Stop response, narrow the time range and ask again.
③ Check whether the widget is folded away
Requests sent with a button go through even when the widget is folded away. Expand it and check.
It only asks back and never answers
The subject or the period is missing. Add the namespace, application name and period and ask again (Chapter 301).
If the Parameter confirmation dialog appeared, fill in the values and press Confirm
(Chapter 306).
The target you want is not in the list

When a scenario from this document is missing, it is usually because the other datasource is selected (Chapter 401).
No suggested questions appear
Because no tool is selected. Select at least one in the tool selector above the input box (Chapter 103).
The guided question list is empty
No guided questions are registered means nothing is registered on the server.
Contact your administrator.
Failed to load is a connection problem. Check the connection status and try again.
The result looks wrong
The numbers do not seem right
Look at the charts and tables. The evidence is more precise than the prose. Expanding
CogentAI's thoughts above the answer often shows you where it went off track.
The forecast is absurd
The evidence window is three days at most. Projecting far ahead from a short trend goes wrong (Chapter 403).
If something that breaks the trend happened, such as a deployment or an event, that is a cause too.
Anomaly detection flags normal behaviour
"Anomaly" means different from usual, not faulty. Deployments, batches and events are all flagged (Chapter 404).
The correlation is high but it is not the cause
Moving together is not the same as causing. Both may have been driven by a third factor (Chapter 402).
You ran it in Custom Setup and the result looks wrong
Custom Setup runs exactly what you chose. It does not stop you combining unrelated metrics. Check that the combination was right (Chapter 305).
The answer drifts off in the wrong direction
The earlier conversation may be influencing it. Press New chat and ask again (Chapter 201).
The figure does not appear

The question matched a blocking rule. Reword it and ask again. If you keep being blocked on something you need for your work, let your administrator know.
